Chemical blend systems are used to dilute concentrated chemical with UPW or to create blends of two or more chemical constituents. The main reason to use on-site blend systems is to reduce the Cost of Ownership for a process. It is less expensive to purchase concentrated chemical and dilute it on-site than to ship pre-diluted chemical that is mostly water. Other reasons to pursue on-site blending include generating proprietary mixes that are not commercially available and producing multiple blend recipes from a single blend system.
